Soon-Hak Kwon: Truth is in the Detail

The Korean photographer displays two new works that shed light on the importance of “detail” in humanity’s scientific and spiritual search for the ultimate truth. 'History Of' is made up of high resolution photographs of gallery walls, arranged according to the image sensor array of the Kepler Space Telescope. By contrast, 'Ecco Homo' depicts a modern day ladder in front of a painting of Christ, the same ladder that the artist used with the initial intent of photographing the painting’s details, thus allowing the ladder to take on a religious, symbolic significance.
