Bringing together Seung-Taek Lee’s signature works from the artist’s most experimental phase between late 1950s and early 1970s, as well as introducing the Untitled series (1968) for the first time, this exhibition offers a fascinating perspective on the avant-garde art scene in East Asia. Lee’s experiments often incorporate elements of Korean traditions, which work to express the artist’s reaction against societal changes in the aftermath of the Korean War.
