Sally Smart: The Choreography of Cutting

The Australian’s artist’s latest collages of female figures are inspired by the dancer Martha Graham’s involvement in Aaron Copland’s 1944 production of ‘Appalachian Spring’. Using paper-cutting, printmaking and stitching, Smart probes the bodily form in her hybrid creations.
