Quietus: The vessel, death and the human

Back in the day, Before Buckingham Palace, Somerset House was London’s Royal Palace and underneath the grand courtyard lay tunnels which house historic gravestones relocated from its Catholic chapel. It’s fitting then for Julian Stair’s ceramic works that explore death should go on display in the eerie passageways below.
