Formerly a director at Lisson and Haunch of Venison, famed collector Pilar Corrias opened her first Rem Koolhaas-designed art gallery in October 2008 with a giant aluminium Christmas tree by acclaimed sculptor Philippe Parreno. The two-floor gallery covered 3,800 sq ft just north of Oxford Street. Despite being a relative newcomer, it won plaudits for its solo shows and large-scale projects that go outside the gallery's physical boundaries. Other artists represented by Pilar Corrias include Tala Madani and Keren Cytter, as well as the ever-innovative Francis Alÿs. The focus is firmly on cutting-edge contemporary talent. Now, they've got even bigger, swankier new digs in deepest Mayfair.
