Marisa Merz

Fresh from her Golden Lion win at the Venice Biennale, the Oscars of the art world, earlier this year, the Italian artist presents sculptures and paintings in her first solo exhibition in a UK institution. As the only female artist to be associated with the Arte Povera movement, Merz's career spans the past five decades. Her use of domestic and industrial materials is evident in her ‘Living Sculptures’ series while her employment of alternative crafts comes through in her mixed media works.
