Not since 1975 has the late Belgian artist’s influential work, ‘Décor: A Conquest’ been seen in London. Made specifically to inaugurate the new Institute of Contemporary Art, London thirty-eight years ago, the witty installation comprised the peak of Broodthaers’ practice. Completed one year before the artist’s death, it triumphantly returns to the city of its birth with a restaging alongside other keys works made from the humble masonry slab.
