The Irish-French artist takes over the Crypt Gallery’s subterranean space with his monumental and madcap mechanical installations for his London debut. Over 80,000 people attended his Centre Pompidou exhibition last year, so what can expect? Eight large-scale sculptures that will no doubt feature shoes as Farrell feels they symbolize a contemporary statement of lived movements. The works will also react to the strangeness of the underground space, which was used as an air-raid shelter in the Second World War.
