Fairytale surrealism dominates the work of Lottie Davies as she explores her dreams and childhood memories through vivid, staged photos. Accompanied by narrative captions, the images are cinematic: in one, we see a child, mouth agape, in a forest of illuminated Christmas trees. We are invited to peer into the artist’s interior world, plagued by anxiety and haunted by the ghost of her missing father. The show is entertaining enough, but underestimates our own imaginations, leaving us with a largely passive viewing experience.
