On Wednesday March 16 2016, the Barbican launches its spring blockbuster ‘Strange and Familiar: Britain as Revealed by International Photographers’ – and we’re planning a photography special to celebrate our partnership with them. Curated by ace photographer Martin Parr, the Barbican show offers a scintillating look at how photographers from around the world have seen us (see above for a sneaky peek) and covers an epic sweep of fairly recent history – from the coronation of George VI in 1937 to surveillance photos of looters taken during the 2011 London riots.

As part of our partnership, we’re looking for your best, most beautiful or just plain bonkers shots of our city in the following categories:

Beautiful London

On the move

Real Londoners

Wild London

Delicious!

Weird and wonderful

Martin Parr will judge the entries. Winners will receive goodies such as private view tickets and exhibition catalogues signed by Parr. We’ll publish a selection of the best entries in the magazine – and they’ll be displayed at the Barbican to mark the opening of the exhibition.

You can upload your photos below or by using the hashtag #strangeandfamiliarcomp on instagram or twitter.
