Revamping the summer group show model with a series of five back-to-back duo shows, in which one artist is replaced every three weeks, results in a dynamic partnering of work by international artists. In this pairing, Rotterdam-based Edward Clydesdale Thomson’s dysfunctional washing line sculpture can’t quite compete with the ingeniously humorous work of Jacob Dahlgren. Known for abstracting objects through repetition, here the Swedish artist transforms the humble tape measure into a wall painting. Shown on an old-school monitor, his video piece ‘Neoconcrete Space’ flashes endless zappy patterns inspired by the artist’s thousand-plus stripey T-shirt collection.
