Inspired by the dramatic paintings of Rubens and Stubbs, Wilson creates his own tribute to the primal pursuit of the hunt. Beasts attack other animals in his paintings that capture feverish assaults, while his terracotta sculptures, regal in style render Hercules twelve labours without depicting the Greek heroes interactions. Wilson subverts our understanding of faith and power by manipulating the medium that has reinforced these social structures.
