The British artist presents new painting and sculptures that draw on his childhood memories of Guyana. The exhibition’s title refers to the wall built to protect Guyanian villages situated below sea level from flooding; Locke uses this metaphorically to represent both protection and seclusion. Here, images taken during a trip to Guyana in 2013 have been painted over to create dreamlike vistas of a lost time.
