Time Out says

The cute pandas, glitzy stars and bright zany colours have been replaced with monochromatic gestures in the former YBA’s latest paintings. Still as expressive and bold as her previous work, Rae has embarked on a number of abstract experiments in black and white that allude to the human form. Challenging the way in which the figure could be represented, the painter’s recent endeavours of capturing the a bodily presence in a simultaneous state of appearance and disappearance are inspired by creation and erasure, specifically linked to Robert Rauschenberg’s ‘Erased de Kooning Drawing’ (1953).
