By the end of his career, Jean Dubuffet (1901-85) had pretty much perfected his Art Brut style and had spawned such a range of imitators that it can be hard to grasp the radical roots of his rejection of traditional standards of beauty. Bringing together paintings, sculptures and works on paper, this show seeks to explore the continuing themes of his art and includes the 'Hourloupe' series, derived from doodles made while Dubuffet was talking on the telephone.
