Photographs by the highly-influential music and fashion photographer, born Arthur Kanofsky in New York City who trained under the celebrated graphic designer, Alexey Brodovitch are brought together in this selling exhibition. Not one to shy away from any genre, Kane’s phenomenal practice encompassed fashion, editorial, celebrity portraiture, travel and nudes. From cramming over fifty world-class Jazz musicians onto the steps of a Harlem building to The Who snuggled under a union jack flag. From a bare chested Andy Warhol with his face painted gold to an underwater shot of Sonny and Cher fully clothed, Kane’s approach to portraiture was vivacious, fresh and utterly timeless.
