The vast continent of Africa has long since influenced European culture, from Cubism and the paintings of Picasso to designers including Balenciaga and Dior. This exhibition by John Kenny reveals the vibrant jewellery, delicate body art and intricately woven fabrics that have become synonymous with ‘Africa’. Kenny travelled from eastern Africa to the far south, and from the Great Rift Valley to the dusty fringes of the Sahara desert. Seven years in the making, this event promises to be an insightful exhibition on the beauty, fashion and styles of a disappearing world.
