If you get a bit bored with a whole evening of music (and after all, who really wants to hang around while the stage crew are doing their 'one two' sound checks?) Word in Your Ear could be just the thing. Their popular events, building on the tradition of the shows put on by the sadly defunct Word magazine, mix storytelling and music with readings and performance, and tonight's line-up sounds a beguiling one. We particularly like the sound of the Soho Hobo Revue, which sees Gary Kemp and fan dancer Miss Giddy Heights interpret the songs of Tim Arnold, but a conversation about Britpop between Mathew Priest of Dodgy, Andy Lewis of Paul Weller's band and DJ and activist Dan Thompson sounds interesting too… as does Katy Carr playing a vintage Wurlitzer. Who could resist?
