This story begins with a Belgian family that moved to Portugal in the 19th century. The Ferins had a thing for books and started by opening a book club that worked as a library – only later it would become Ferin’s Bookshop. It opened for business in 1840 and it’s still in business: they own several good and extensive copies of history and genealogy books.
