You’ll be lost among the variety of candles of all shapes, colours and scents. But most of all, you’ll be amazed by the extremely old building, made out of dark wood, which has a wall clock with the date it was inaugurated engraved on it: 1789. This was the year that its founder, Domingos Sá Pereira, brought a new working method of fabricating candles with beeswax instead of the traditional tallow (that didn’t have a pleasant smell) to Lisbon.
