“This here feels like family", says Alfredo Gramaça, an employee at this Rossio "tasca" for twenty years. The place has looked the same "for some 100 years", but its prime touristic location means there are now more menu options: beyond breaded pork and "bifana" pork steak sandwiches, they now also offer a cod sandwich. There are also stories to tell, such as the one about the tourist who asked them to warm up his fresh cheese. The Tendinha also serves suckling pig or shrimp rissoles, cod cakes and croquettes, that you can wash down with a cup of wine or cherry brandy.
