It's in this list exclusively due to a “picanha” rump steak that our critics described as the nation's best: great beef, in thick, well grilled strips. However, we found other reasons to justify a trip to Marvila (a neighbourhood that is becoming a hot spot). Tail or round “maminha” beef is also great, the black pork is surprising and, of course, their “bitoque” steak is great. All this comes with fine chips.
Time Out tips:
– Lines are huge at lunchtime.
– They also make fish “cataplana” pans, “açorda” bread soups and pastas by special order.
– If you ask for the wine list, they'll just reply: white or red?
