Cape Roca is continental Europe's westernmost location, so Refúgio da Roca is probably the continent's westernmost restaurant – that should be worth some bragging points on social networks. It is a very quiet place, where you should take your time, bring an empty stomach and enjoy the local fish, some shellfish, squid on a clay pot, a rich seafood soup or the beef with laurel. All dishes are expertly prepared. Needless to say, a walk is the best way to let the food settle – but please watch your step.
Time Out tips:
– A fireplace heats up the colder days.
– Any dish with squid or cod is a sure bet.
– From May to August, sardines are always available.
