8Building, in Cais do Sodré, has a number of restaurants on the ground floor, but what about up there? To get to Javá, you’ll have to get inside the building and look for the panoramic elevator, which takes you to the top floor. Once at the top, it’s a whole new view of the city that opens up for you, on what will certainly be the rooftop of this summer. The decor is sober and tropical-urban at the same time. The interior area is large and well decorated, with dark blue velvets, but the terrace is the real MVP, with high seats in a kind of balcony overlooking the river, and more tables to get together with friends. There is an à la carte brunch menu on the weekends and a dinner menu during the week, with Mediterranean flavors cooked over the fire.
