This place serves some of the most dependable Indian food in Lisbon. The brothers who have been running it for more than two decades hail from Portuguese India and their menu is influenced by the culinary mingling that went on there. Vegetarians are well catered for. Arrive early for dinner to avoid the queues. The same extended family runs Calcuta and Calcuta 2 in the Bairro Alto (www.restaurantcalcuta.com), and the unmarked Caxemira (Rua Condes de Monsanto 4, 1st floor, 21 886 5486).
