This long-established fado house has had a tasteful facelift and, most importantly, cut out the folk dancing to focus on good-quality fado. The restaurant's large size means it still attracts tour groups, yet it retains atmosphere. The black-and-white photos of Amália are still here too. Performers include Isabel de Noronha, Pedro Viana, Joana Viega and Marco Rodrigues. Accompanying them is a double-bass, as well as the traditional Spanish and Portuguese guitars. You'll pay between €40 and €50 a head for a full meal here.
