Mark Knopfler

Mark Knopfler is a tough guy. It’s not that easy, for those who invented such a characteristic style, to remain faithful and not caring about the many twists and turns of the music scene. And what is the Knopfler style? The guitar, yes, that characteristic strum inherited from the blues, but also the ambiance of atmospheric folk, crystalline sound, framing a voice that owes nothing to Dylan. That was the Dire Straits in the mid-1970s, and it's still Mark Knopfler, in the tenth solo album, Down the Road Wherever (2018).
