Herdade do Moinho Novo

It is architecturally impressive: eight suspended houses spread through 60 hectares of land. The Herdade do Moinho Novo operates under environmentalist principles and that concern extends to all areas. Examples? Materials are natural and recyclable, wood is employed wherever possible and their agricultural products are biologic. The houses – 70 square meter studios – have different themes (forest, vintage, future, belle époque, industrial and colonial) and are correspondingly decorated. They also have a veranda facing the swimming pool and the lake. If you are a city dweller with a longing for farm living among the animals, start packing: you get to feed the animals and even help with their care.
