O Bar Mais Triste da Cidade (The Saddest Bar in the City) has whiskey, piano and sadness as its main ingredients, although the decor is anything but sad. “The idea is that it would be a sing-along space, [those to] sing sad songs and that suddenly everyone is singing happily together”, says Camila Prado Fonseca, one of the people behind this project. “With so much limitation this has been postponed until better days arrive, and now we are working with musicians who play more classical, quieter pianos.” There is live music from Wednesday to Saturday between 8pm and 10.30pm, and the wine cellar has been handpicked, with whiskeys starting at €9 and going up to €27, including harder-to-find drinks like James Martin. There's only one cocktail, the pennyroyal margarita, for eight euros, and oysters for snacking.
