Choose your favourite from among the 50 birds of prey that live in the Casa das Rapinas in these former royal hunting grounds. The star is an Eagle owl named Elvis, but there are many others. After the show kids have a whole hour to interact with the animal: they can hold him (so long as they pull on the protective leather glove first) and even feed him. The Common buzzard, for example, gobbles a chicken leg as if it were a slice of fruit. But there is lots more to see at the Tapada – including walks and rides to see the wild boar, fallow deer and red deer that roam here – as well as many activities that are great for families, such as night visits, treasure hunts and mini-train rides.
