Time Out says

Built in the 10th century, during the Muslim presence in the Iberian Peninsula, Castelo dos Mouros (“the castle of moors”) is a World Heritage site since 1995. From the historic stone walls you’ll be able to see the village of Sintra, Palácio da Pena on top of the mountain – which you must visit too while you’re here –, the lowland areas and even the ocean.
