Time Out says

The shaded walkways of the university's Botanical Garden, laid out between 1858 and 1878, are surrounded by some 10,000 plants. It's a lovely place to wander on hot days - though do remember that what goes down must come up, and the garden is on the slope of a hill. The Borboletário (butterfly house), home to an unrivalled range of Iberian species, is open from mid March to November (10am-5pm Tue-Fri, 11am-6pm Sat & Sun).
