Meat masters face off at Battle of the Burger

Who makes the best burger in Leeds? With the city home to so many talented vendors there really is only one way to find out: to put them all together in a fight to the death.

Okay, maybe not all of them and most likely not to the death. However, the Battle of the Burger event at Canal Mills on Friday September 18 and Saturday September 19 could well get bloody. Or at the very least ketchupy...

Following the success of three fearsome rounds of combat in Newcastle earlier in the year, six of the most respected burger makers in the region will now be facing off with Leeds as their battleground.

Like previous Battle of the Burger events, all the entrants will create a signature burger with the hopes of winning the favour of public opinion and wowing several guest judges. The winner will be crowned the best burger in Leeds.

Fans of meat in a bun will be more than familiar with the competitors: joining Belgrave regulars Patty Smith is the wild Almost Famous and the wacky Get Baked. They will be competing The Black Swan, Otley's The Old Yorkshire Pit and Sela's Boozy Q's. To spice things up even further, winners of the Newcastle battles – Lola Jeans and Fat Hippo – will be taking part too.

Asides from the beef, visitors will also get the chance to listen to DJs and music curated by organisers One20, with a full line-up to be announced.
