Work on the £165 million Victoria Gate shopping centre development in Leeds' Victoria Quarter began back in April 2014. Once completed, the centre will boast a flagship John Lewis store, along with high end shops, restaurants, cafes and a casino within 42,000 square meters of leisure and retail space.
Earlier in November it was revealed that Victoria Gate will be getting several exciting new additions – including a rooftop restaurant from D&D, a group with two Michelin stars within its portfolio of 37 venues.
Along with the Michelin starred Angler and Launceston Place in London, D&D has restaurants in Paris, Tokyo and New York. However, within its UK empire, only two restaurants are located outside London: the well respected rooftop cafe and brasserie Angelica, and British eatery Crafthouse – both within Trinity Leeds.
The new restaurant will take a 7,800 sq ft rooftop unit, which will include an outside dining terrace offering stunning views across the city.
At the same time, three luxury retailers announced they had signed up to the shopping centre: US brand Anthropologie, which will be creating its flagship North of England store; as well as fashion retailers Cos and & Other Stories. All three will be making their first appearance in Leeds.
Victoria Gate is scheduled to open late 2016. You can see how the development is getting on with the developer's latest time-lapse video here:
