Two years ago, Leeds City Council and Leeds-based creative producers Dep Arts approached theatre company Tangled Feet about creating something spectacular as part of TRY, the official cultural celebration of the Rugby World Cup in the city.

The result will be a huge outdoor event on Friday in Millennium Square.

Whilst Elland Road will be hosting two matches over the weekend of September 26 and 27, you can join in the celebrations in what Nathan Curry, artistic director of Tangled Feet, describes as their most ambitious project yet. He'll be in charge of hundreds of performers in an event which takes themes found in the game as its inspiration - fair play, teamwork and justice.

During the piece, titled 'Collective Endeavour', giant rugby posts will be set up, there'll be live music and a few surprises.

Collective Endeavour, Millennium Square, Friday September 25, 8pm. Tickets are free but please book in advance.
