The people have spoken – or at least the people who use TripAdvisor have. They've hailed Ira B’s, that place in Moortown you've been meaning to check out for months, as the finest restaurant in Leeds.

It's not the only accolade this friendly Chelwood Drive restaurant serving Jewish-American deli-style food has picked up. It's also been shortlisted for the Oliver Award in the Best Suburban category.

Ira B's welcoming interior

Born and bred in Leeds, long-time caterer Ira B Silverman has brought an education at the Tante Marie Culinary Academy to bear on a menu of classic Jewish food with 'a bonkers mood'. Choose from chicken schnitzels, latke, chopped liver, and, of course, their world-famous salt beef sandwich, The Grobber. Just count the layers.

The Grobber!

They even cater for indecisive diners with their BOB (a bit of both) – a salt beef sandwich with chuck soup.

The rest of the TripAdvisor top ten was made up of fellow award nominees and winners. So go and check out hummus hangout Humpit, street-food vendors Market Wraps, chintzy tearoom Just Grand!, Moments Café, Keralan specialists Tharavadu, My Thai Leeds, meat paradise Boss Burgers, gourmet food experimentalists The Man Behind the Curtain and the easy-going Black Swan.
