Key sculptures from the Leeds collections are combined with film, photography and text to reveal the stories connected to each work. Figure and portrait sculpture, installations and assemblages explore narratives surrounding the human body, landscapes and imaginary worlds.
Central to the displays is ‘Rebekkah’ by Simon Fujiwara, one of the most exciting British artists to emerge in recent years. The piece, life-size cast plaster figures inspired by a 16-year-old girl involved in the 2011 London riots, challenges perceptions of class and expectations of personal growth.
