Hot yoga is the hottest craze in town, touted as a great way to de-stress, lose weight and tone muscles, while increasing flexibility and strength. Enter Hot Yo Studio, a steamy studio equipped with infrared radiant heaters – such as those used in a baby’s incubator – so you can sweat it out while practising your downward-facing dog pose as the temperature dials up to 38C.
There are three classes of varying levels and styles: for stiff beginners and wary newcomers, ‘Slo’ is a deep, slow class designed for de-stressing and stretching, focusing on breathing, meditation and technique; the fast-paced ‘Flo’ is for intermediate-to-advanced yogis, where pumped-up tunes power your dance-like exercise in the style of vinyasa yoga; and then there’s ‘Grow-Pro’ in the style of bikram and hatha yoga for first-timers and seasoned yogis alike to up your stamina and strength.
The studio, a minimalist whitewashed space, provides free eco-friendly yoga mats for your workouts, along with free filtered drinking water as well as towels, showers and changing rooms with lockers.
