When you travel you tend to find brands that you wish were in KL; that’s one of the reasons Major Drop came about. The guys from Pestle & Mortar launched this multi-label retail chain in June, stocking up on international brands that focus on street wear, fashion and lifestyle. Major Drop has all your daily sartorial needs: caps, T-shirts, pants, shoes, wallets, sunglasses and more. They want to provide a space where people have access to international brands that aren’t available in KL, according to Hugh Koh, the creative director and co-founder of Pestle & Mortar.
There’s just something about Major Drop and its edgy aura. Maybe it’s the warm lighting, or the cool items on display, but whenever you walk by, you’ll definitely be drawn in. Also, the clean-cut interior of the shop makes it easy for you to browse through the different brands on offer. You’ll find big names like Nike, Herschel and Havaianas, but the major draw is the availability of brands that are still new to KLites. The shop now has over 50 international brands, with more to follow soon, such as Gourmet Shoes and Dime Piece.
The shop in Sunway is only the first part of the venture – another outlet will open in Klang Valley sometime this year, and there are plans for expanding around Southeast Asia too. And now that Major Drop has recently launched its online store, you’ll be able to check out these exciting new brands without having to leave the house.
