Shopaholics and would-be blogshop entrepreneurs have known about KWC for a while, though in previous years they would have been referring to the tangle of streets surrounding Jalan Kenanga. These streets were (and still are) full of wholesale stores where shop owners stock up. Now KWC (short for Kenanga Wholesale City) is capitalising on the area’s brand and housing those who are willing in their massive, seven-floor mall.
They’re hoping to rival Bangkok’s Platinum Mall, with fast fashion at cutthroat prices. You can choose to buy in bulk at all the stores, or individual pieces at the ones that offer normal retail (most of them do). It’s worth a visit if you like having the same item in many colours, or have a lot of similarly dressing friends. There’s also an impressive non-halal food court, modelled after Lot 10’s Hutong and Publika’s EAT.
