Get this right: Shitamachi doesn’t serve fried tendon, literally, but crisp tempura laid over rice with a soy sauce dressing. The tempura donburi (or tempura rice bowls) here is available in various combinations of shrimp, squid, fish, scallop and more. For non-meat eaters, there’s an option of having four different types of vegetable tempura instead. You can expect a miso soup, tea and Japanese pickles with your tendon set.
This outlet in Ara Damansara is an offshoot of the popular restaurant in Asakusa, Tokyo. The menu remains the same, and the chefs are from the main Tokyo restaurant, deployed here on a rotation basis.
