Back to the nasi lemak: a mound of creamy coconut rice sits centre stage on a plate, fringed all round with a boiled egg, cucumber slices, spicy sambal (heavy on the onions), ikan bilis and roasted peanuts — each item there to compliment the last.
For protein, add-on options are ayam goreng (with crispy rempah crunch), chicken curry or sotong sambal.
If you’re not in the mood for rice, also on the menu are mee siam, mee goreng, and pulut.
