Stalls serving nasi lemak are a dime a dozen in Kuala Lumpur, but Chinese-style pork-friendly (read: non-halal) ones are a little more difficult to spot. At Ann Nasi Lemak, have your fluffy coconut rice with accoutrements — cut cucumbers, half a boiled egg, sambal, anchovies and roasted peanuts —and pair it with pork curry, pork skin curry, or petai stir-fried with minced pork.
Other side dishes of note include chicken curry, fried chicken, mutton rendang, sotong sambal and siham sambal.
Given its ever-present queue and popularity, go early to avoid disappointment. But never fear, the sheer variety of other street food stalls at ICC Pudu still makes it a worthy destination for food lovers. Our tip: Summon up a group of friends to experience the joy of communal dining or, in other words, share-share lah.
