Kar Wai and Kar Heng, the power brothers behind CoffeeSociété and Garage 51, are attempting to revitalise KL’s café scene with food that steers clear of mystery hams and hollandaise; the eggs Benedict here is a bold upgrade with slipper lobster and pumpkin. Other dishes include tasting platters that carry avocado wedges topped with feta, or prawns, or couscous, a hefty steak burger with mushroom casserole and egg, and a boozy bombe Alaska. The 30-foot bar is where cold-brewed coffee-on-tap is dispensed, a concept we predict will take flight across more of KL’s cafés.
