At the nondescript Sze Ngan Chye roadside stand, takeaway has been the only option to enjoy the famous salted roast duck since the Chong family started business in the ’50s. Situated in front of a textile shop along busy Petaling Street, regulars and curious tourists alike stand in line from as early as 8am for a piece of the succulent charcoal-roasted duck, which usually runs out before 2pm. If conventional duck meat is too passé for you, try the duck parcel, essentially a stewed duck feet-intestine roll.
