This unassuming shop in Kampung Baru is famous for one dish only – chilli pan mee. It’s a brilliant dish in theory – springy flour noodles topped with a soft, poached egg, minced pork, crunchy anchovies and a take-how-much-you-can-handle portion of dry, pan-roasted chilli flakes. In taste, it’s even better. The chilli flakes are mixed through the noodles and egg for a slippery, slick mouthfeel countered by the crunch of anchovies and heat of chilli.
