The Delicious in 1 Utama we once knew is now gone following the takeover of the restaurant chain by Envictus Group (which also owns Texas Chicken and San Francisco Coffee). In its place is a revamped Delicious, featuring an upscaled menu created by its Group Executive Chef Timothy Sebastian that includes more adventurous dishes like the Thai-influenced duck confit salad and a roast chicken dish using a 48-hour brined chicken. For now, only the 1 Utama outlet features the new menu, with remaining outlets in Bangsar Village II and St Mary’s Place, expected to undergo a similar revamp in the coming months.
Those who love a meaty meal should go for Dibs on the Beef Ribs, a five-hour slow-cooked hearty chunk of beef ribs served with fries, onion rings and coleslaw that typifies the restaurant’s unhurried approach that emphasises taste and generosity over fast turnovers. Also recommended is the Basil ‘The Bomb’ Pesto, one of the remaining survivors from the previous menu that has been improved with the use of fresh pesto made from basil, pine nuts and parmesan cheese.
