It all started when six friends were having drinks one night and received a bill that made them feel unsatisfied. The gang had always wanted to open their own bar, so they asked themselves: Why not open a place with reasonably priced drinks? That’s pretty much the story behind SIX, Bangsar’s newest cocktail lounge and bar. The modern interior with wooden floors and black furniture gives off a loungey, laidback vibe. It feels a bit like a spacious living room, with a bar in the middle.

Emran the bartender is the whizz-kid behind all the cocktails at SIX and he also makes the homemade bitters. If you’re not sure what to order, try ‘Six Wrong Do Make it Right’, their signature cocktail. It consists of homemade grapefruit bitters, gula Melaka, dark rum, lime juice and green apple foam, giving it a sweet, sour and bitter taste, and it comes with a pretty garnish of thinly sliced apples arranged like a fan. You can also try the ‘Guinness Tarik’ and share it with your friends. Yes, it’s stout and condensed milk, so it’s sweet, gassy and cool.

Wednesday is ladies’ night, when ladies get three free cocktails that are only available on that night. Don’t feel left out, guys – you can get a mug of beer for as low as RM12 any time and any day here. The bar is still growing and will be serving food in the near future. This is definitely the place to be for good and affordable cocktails in Bangsar.
