As you walk into Sash, you’ll notice delicate traces of perfume in the air. Not overwhelming on the senses, these scents nicely mingle with each other in the store, ebbing and flowing depending on where you stand. The store is done up in the pastels of an English cottage, with a large French Provincial dining table showcasing some of the crystal and crockery available in the store.
Created to be a one-stop shop for homeware and gifts, Sash offers gifts scoured from all corners of the world: 100 per cent Egyptian cotton towel and bed sets, handstitched silk and velvet duvet covers from Italy, clear and coloured Polish crystal, crockery from Australia, Michel Design Works fragrance diffusers and soy wax candles from New York, as well as handmade natural vegetable and fruit soaps from Austria.
But for me, the star products are the ‘Sweet Treats’ range of bath and body care from the Australian eco-friendly company Urban Rituellle. The lip balm (RM32) comes in 18 different flavours, and is made with beeswax, sweet almond oil, olive oil, shea butter, vitamin E and sunscreen. The range also includes body cream (RM58) made with shea butter, jojoba, macadamia and avocado oils; creamy vegetable soap made from vegetable oil, cocoa butter and vitamin E; as well as candles (RM60) made using 100 per cent natural soy wax.
Also available is the Sweet Delights gift set (RM80), which comes in five different flavours – Vanilla, Ginger Apple, Pomegranate, Peach Blossom and Cotton Candy. Each set contains a 12ml perfume, a 100g creamy vegetable soap and a 20g lip balm. There is also a limited edition candy cane lip balm available for the Christmas season. Plus, their free wrapping service will blow any of your efforts with sellotape out of the water.
