Fresh off the printer is Sayur in the City, a guide to eating vegetables in KL. Produced and mapped by the good folks of social enterprise Eats, Shoots & Roots in collaboration with ThinkCity, this guide details everything there is to know about permaculture in the city – from how to establish and care for your own edible garden, which lowland tropical plants (to suit KL’s climate) to grow, and even a detailed map of restaurants and food stalls (fried sweet potato balls!) within a one-kilometre radius of Masjid Jamek where you can get dishes made with locally-sourced vegetables. The guide is currently available at Dumpster MY, Free Tree Society, The Forest Trust MY and The Kitchen Table.
